Born in Kyiv in 1964 (May 26!) in the family of a teacher at the Kyiv National Aviation University and an editor of a scientific academic journal…

From early childhood, she showed creative abilities - she starred in the TV show “Come, Fairy Tale!” with actors from the Academic Theater of Russian Drama and the Youth Theater…

She even drew at public transport stops…

Due to the high level of performance on the entrance exam in drawing, she easily entered the Kyiv Engineering and Civil Engineering Institute in 1981, at the Faculty of Architecture (specializing in urban planning architecture), which she graduated in 1987.

She worked in various design institutes and organizations in Kyiv…

She later demonstrated her creative abilities as an artist and designer:

- In a ceramic workshop,

- In a company that produced jewelry,

- In a company that produced wooden stairs and other products,

- At the Bozhenko furniture factory…

 

In 2001, she opened her own enterprise “KHRAM”, which carried out interior design and architecture projects and implemented them.

She also created and taught an author's course in interior design at various schools...

Since 2005, she became the founder of the Author's School of Interior Design and Architecture of Irina Belova-Smorzh, which had branches in five cities with a population of over a million in Ukraine... The school combined, in addition to architecture and interior design, courses in art history, academic drawing, landscape design, textile design, floristry...

All this time she painted graphic works, watercolors and oil paintings.

But focused on the pastel technique since 2020…

In 2025, she participated in the exhibition of contemporary artists at the Tauvers Gallery International, as well as in the exhibitions:

- October: Salon International d'Art Contemporain (Carrousel du Louvre, Paris)

- October: Art Bar Grenada Gallery (St Georges, Grenada)

In 2026, Irina's works were accepted for participation in the 6th annual international exhibition of the Gallerium.art platform “Extinction: Save the Planet – 2026”
